Abstract

The first chapter of the book by M. O. Fessenmeyer «Bone: an Element of Diagnostics» presents an analysis of the notions «bone» and «part of skeleton». The author pays special attention to the process of morphogenesis and to the bone modeling capacity, considering a bone as a «living» element, which follows the laws of life. Mechanical and functional qualities of the bone tissue in osteopathic practice are also an object of regard.
